We equip the believers in South and Central Asia to do the work that God has called them to
do. This is done in many different ways, as there are many different needs. Our primary focus
in equipping is to develop livelihood projects for pastors and church planters to support their
families and ministries. We do not want the people we partner with to be dependent on TREC for
income. Small business ideas are developed for our international partners. The funds to start
these businesses are raised stateside, and the small business is established and then given to
the international partner. Two examples of small business that have been started are provisional
stores and mountain taxies. In the mountainous regions where we minister, people will walk 3-7
days to buy basic provisions. We have built stores and placed them in strategic locations where
people will only have to walk 1-2 days to buy provisions. These stores cost $1200 to build and
fully stock. Most people in this region have no vehicles, so they depend on other modes of
transportation. Some walk, ride bikes or use taxies or buses for long trips. A jeep type
vehicle was purchased in 2004 for a partner to use as a mountain taxi. The monies made from this
vehicle support three families. We provide bicycles, sleeping bags, back packs, flash lights,
digital cameras, generators, bibles and many other basic needs so effective soul winning and
church planting can be accomplished.
